Analytics

“The digital age is bringing with it more and more data and we as a business need to be able to utilise this data to both deliver great personalised experiences, as well as superior commercial and operational performance.  At TUI UK & Ireland we see investment in our ability to make decisions based on data and analytics as crucial and, in particular, our ability to join up the thinking and application of best practice across our different functions.

Furthermore, our success in the world of yield management has been recognised, with the UK becoming the home of a yield centre of excellence for the TUI GROUP”- Aaron Sugarman – Director of Analytics

In a nutshell, what does your job involve?
Account management of our 3rd party cruise suppliers; driving profitability and sales through retail.

Name three things in life that make you smile.
Chinese food, the beach and the sun.

While you’ve been working at TUI, what has put the biggest smile on your face?
Attending our Retail Managers Conference: meeting our retail team, suppliers and The Saturdays!

What could you tell someone about TUI that would sound too good to be true?
The late deals are amazing – I have used these three times in the last year. Perfect for some last minute sun!

Why do you think TUI is ‘good value’ for you?
Since I have been at TUI, I have been given the opportunity to develop both professionally and as a person. I think the company really invests in you as an individual and gives you loads of opportunity to explore new areas and skills.

Head of Business Change, Commercial

In a nutshell, what does your job involve?
I lead a number of projects in the Commercial division as part of the company’s largest ever business change programme. This involves designing business processes, specifying the technology changes and organisational changes to support this, and then making sure they’re successfully implemented.

Name three things in life that make you smile.
Jacob, Finley and Martha, my three children, especially when we’re away on holiday!

While you’ve been working at TUI, what has put the biggest smile on your face?
Seeing parts of our change programme go live. It’s hugely satisfying to see the impact of the changes, not just internally, but on our customers. I’ve worked on our new websites and improved the customer experience when it comes to researching and booking holidays. Recently, Greg, a member of my team, led the implementation of 3rd party flying, which means we can offer a wider range of departure points and destinations to our customers.

What could you tell someone about TUI that would sound too good to be true?
Working for TUI you can fly to parts of Europe and back for less than the cost of a video game (subject to terms and conditions!)

Why do you think TUI is ‘good value’ for you?
I’ve worked for TUI since finishing university and have always had opportunities to learn and progress. It’s a really friendly place to work, with fantastic people. There are a really wide range of staff benefits too, which all add up to a great package.

Commercial & Yield

The time our customers spend away is precious. That’s why every holiday we create must offer value and quality – as well as a great return for our business. If you’re an analytical thinker, fuelled by the desire to be part of a results-driven team, you could take up a role at the commercial heart of our business. In one of our commercial jobs in Planning, you’ll be helping to put together the widest range of holidays for our customers. While in Trading, you’ll identify the best way to sell beds and aircraft seats to maximise profits. From liaising with hotel buyers, to forecasting travel trends, developing holiday brochures, and pricing holidays – it’s all in a day’s work in this area of our business.
