I joined TUI 6 years ago as a Thomson & First Choice Holiday Rep and it didn’t take long to become hooked on the life style. Mid-season we had the option to choose what we would like to do for the winter period and I jumped at the opportunity to join Crystal Ski Holidays as a Resort Rep so I could continue in the role year round with the added bonus of winter sports to enjoy.
During my first winter season in France I was lucky enough to experience working in many of the resorts in the northern Alpes. Through the Crystal Development Program I was able to apply my strengths in key areas needed whilst I developed my skillset in others. I was successful in progressing to the next level and returned the following winter as Rep Supervisor in the northern French Alpes.
During my time in France I learnt a lot about the role and expectations of what was required of me. To continue my learning and development I decided to move across to the Austria & Rest of World program to expand my knowledge of the business and the winter program as well as continuing to develop my management style in order to keep progressing. I continued to work closely with the management team in Austria and again through the Crystal Develop Program I progressed to Resort Manager – Reps.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last few seasons working in a variety of resorts with different teams, some seasons being more successful than others – it’s always a continuous learning curve with no two days the same. It’s a great feeling when you are able to drive a team to success, sharing that sense of achievement as a part of a team and providing excellent customer service being part of the reason why our customers love to come back with Crystal year after year.
I really enjoy working for the company especially with so many opportunities to work in different departments; so with this in mind this summer I thought I would try something different and head to the UK to experience the business from a new perspective and meet the wider Crystal team.
Keen to learn more about how our staff start their journey with us, I joined the Overseas Recruitment team as an Assessor.
As much as I’m enjoying working in the UK office, I’m really looking forward to a white Christmas in the Alpes……. May the snow gods be with us!
