I joined the TUI Group in 2014 working for Crystal as a Chalet Host in Selva Val Gardena, Italy. I immediately fell in love with this place and although I’ve travelled far and wide this still remains my favourite place in the world.
I loved the fast paced and diverse job role of a Chalet Host and particularly enjoyed baking, decorating and creating delicious afternoon tea options. Despite the intention to only complete one season following university, I very quickly became addicted to the lifestyle and my love for the mountains grew. Therefore, when mid-season came around and I was given the opportunity to work for Thomson Lakes and Mountains over the summer on Lake Garda, I jumped at the opportunity. I took a real liking to the Holiday Advisor role and had the chance to visit some incredible Italian cities such as Venice, Verona, Milan and Florence.
I returned back to Selva Val Gardena for Winter 15/16 where I successfully completed my second season as a Chalet Host. During this season, I was able to further develop my cooking and hosting skills and received some great reviews from customers for my service via feedback forms and Trip Advisor. This positive feedback motivated me throughout the season and pushed me to exceed my service targets.
During Summer 16, I returned back to Lake Garda however this year I was able to experience a different resort in the South of the lake. I worked in a dual resort where I was given extra responsibility, administrative tasks to complete and I also used this time to work through the Crystal Development Programme where I successfully passed my interview to become a Resort Supervisor.
In Winter 16/17, I swapped my ‘Buongiorno’s’ for ‘Bonjour’s’ and spent the season in La Rosiere, France. We had some incredible snow this year with up to 40cm overnight and it was great to get to know a new resort, a new country and a new language. I continued my development over this season and was given the opportunity to be acting Resort Rep Manager in Val D’Isere for two weeks where I was able to learn invaluable skills and ski the Espace Killy Region.
I have always wanted to work in recruitment and I am so pleased to be a Recruitment Assessor for the Winter 17/18 Campaign.
Working for the TUI Group your opportunities are endless. Apply now and I promise you won’t look back.
