In a nutshell, what does your job involve?
My working day mainly involves responding and engaging with the our social media audience via the Crystal Ski chat function on the website. The assistance that our customers need via this form of communication is extremely varied. Within a short period of time I could have been in contact with someone who is just beginning to think about booking a holiday, someone who has already booked a holiday and someone who is currently on holiday or just returned. Each day brings something new and requires constantly building my knowledge of what is going on to be able to help customers at each stage of their journey with us.
Luckily for me I have a job role with a lot of variety. I get to answer any questions customers have via email and calls, help customers with any assistance requirements and requests as well as providing advice when they need to cancel their holidays.
I also support my colleagues in Sales and Customer Service by meeting their admin requirements and speak with our suppliers overseas and here in the UK. I work with the charity we support Disability Snowsports UK in booking their yearly holidays and book late deal ski holidays for my colleagues.
Tell us a little bit about your back ground? When did you start working for Crystal Ski Holidays?
I have always had a passion for travelling and adventure and with that came a strong desire to work abroad. Over 3 years ago I began working overseas with Crystal in Italy as a Holiday Rep. I then went on to work 4 seasons alternating between the summer and ski seasons in Italy and Austria also with Crystal. Last year I decided I wanted to come back to the U.K and did not think twice about exploring the possibilities of continuing to work with TUI. I was successful to secure a role back in the U.K in the Surbiton contact centre where I enjoyed 6 months as a customer sales advisor before moving on to my current role.
What do you enjoy most about working within Social and Chat for Crystal Holidays?
I enjoy many aspects of the job. The fast pace and variety of work within the chat and social role, keeps me on my toes as it involves a lot of problem solving and solving on the spot. My favourite part of the job is working from home. I am someone who likes to fill up every second of my own time with things I enjoy, and this job allows me to have the most amount of free time in a day possible. Alongside homeworking, I find this a very independent job role, and the close communication between our team is fantastic. Everyone is just a phone call away if I need help with anything. As a team, we communicate well and keep in touch if we need assistance from one another and of course making sure we have a good old catch up as well.
Name 3 things in life that makes you smile?
My family, friends and dog. Which is actually 3 things already but they all come under the one category. They make me the smile the most.
Travelling to new places, exploring and taking lots of pictures of the pretty sights.
Being active. I love filling my time practising yoga, running, hiking and of course skiing.
