What does your job involve?
Accountable for strategic development of all regional opportunities in line with source market 5 year plans and delivery. Account management of the SM clusters, Accountable for delivery of purchasing synergies: cost base management, prepayment optimisation, asset optimisation.
Why did your choose to work for TUI?
I was working in First Choice back in 2007 as head of purchasing for Spain and we merged with TUI; that was a big challenge as the merger was between two great companies who were leaders in the UK market so that opened many opportunities for my career.
What’s the best thing about your team?
The best thing about my team is the passion and focus they all have. We live in a very challenging and rapidly changing environment and being quick to react is essential in our business and department, therefore it is really important to know that everybody is so focused and always eager to go the extra mile.
What skills & experience have you developed whilst working in Purchasing?
The first skill really is the negotiation, being able to persuade and convince your suppliers is a must in purchasing, being able to prioritise is key, assertiveness, decision making, fairness.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
I don’t really have a favourite place to be honest, there are so many places to visit that I tend not to repeat… I have two kids now so anything that is family friendly is my favourite place at the moment.
What motivates and inspires you in your role?
I am very results driven, doing a good job and achieving the desired result is my primary motivation. It’s very rewarding working closely with the team and see new projects coming in, good negotiations taking fruition etc.
What makes you smile?
My kids, they are really my personal driver.
